Hello Nigel,

Sorry for being blunt.

One of the most important things I learned over the years is the ability to unlearn, and to look at facts and arguments, without all the biases I picked up along the way.

It’s hard, I know, and even today I catch myself sometimes behaving like you did, and lecturing people using my decades of experience at this or that company.

But even my 45,55,100,… years experience have no bearing on the subject matter whatsoever. It’s irrelevant.

The facts are the facts. It’s like math. If you don’t want to see the truth, or can’t handle it … you will ignore, rationalise, lie, obfuscate, … . It’s human nature.

But at my mature age I found clarity.

Thanks for your perspective,

Alex
